Heating, Roofing & Air Conditioning Company in Hamburg, Orchard Park, Springville, NY & Beyond
The original Vacinek’s was founded in 1938 by Louis J. “Louie” Vacinek, who previously worked for Mosher Heating. Known back then as Vacinek Heating, the business operated from Louie’s home at 499 Franklin Street, Springville, New York. From its first days, the business was a true family affair. While Louie was out helping customers, his wife, Pat, handled the books and ran the office. After several successful years, Louie added roofing to his service offering and the company became known as Vacinek Heating & Roofing.
During this time, Louie’s nephew, John McCarthy, began working for Vacinek’s in the summers, learning from his Uncle about the heating and roofing business. He began working for the company full-time in 1954, and by 1969, had bought Vacinek’s, assuming all responsibility for its operations. At this time, the company incorporated and took its present name: Vacinek’s Heating & Roofing, Inc. Johns wife, Jackie, also became Vacinek’s part-time office manager in 1979.
In 1985, Deb Schweickert, Louie’s grandniece, started to work in the office part-time. In 1988, Vacinek’s moved out of its original Franklin Street location and into a new facility, attached to the warehouse. At the same time, Deb took over as full-time office manager. In 1991, she bought the business and assumed responsibility for its daily operations.
Paul Davies, the great-grandnephew of Louis, assumed responsibility for the company in 1996. In 2007 Vacinek’s merged with Francis Ehrman’s, another local company with which it had a longstanding relationship. In 2007, Vacinek’s opened its second location at 504 Pleasant Avenue in Hamburg, New York.
In 2011, Dave Filighera & family took ownership of Vacinek Plumbing, Heating & Roofing, Inc. taking over all responsibilites of the company and relocating the office to 8038 Boston State Rd. Hamburg, NY 14075.
